From 1957 until his graduation from Hastings High School in 1968, Mike resided in the Hastings area. In 1973, he graduated from Western Michigan University with a BA in Social Work and Criminal Justice. \r

From 1989 to 1991, he served as president of the Friend of the Court Association. On January 31, 1995, he was honored with the Liberty Bell and the State Bar of Michigan Award for his work in West Michigan Family Law.

For 32 years, I worked as a foreman for the Philadelphia Water Department. He was happy to be a member of the Public Works Department. He routinely recruited friends and family in Fishtown by telling them about his job and the company he worked for.

During the summer, he took a trip to West Wildwood, New Jersey, to see his parents, siblings, and extended family. The warm, sunny days at the beach brought him much joy, and he would take his friends out on his boat to enjoy the experience.
