Matt sabo obituary |On September 23, 2020, Hampton Bays resident Matthew Alexander Sabo, 37, died. At the Scott-Rothwell Funeral Home, there will be a visitation from 2:00-4:00 PM and 7:00-9:00 PM on Sunday, September 27th, 2020.

Matthew dedicated his life to the best of his ability. With a compassionate heart and a laid back demeanor, he managed to keep it all in check. In addition to a great sense of humor, he had an unforgettable smile and twinkle in his eye.

In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening, cooking, and baking with his daughter and grandchildren. He loved nothing more than spending time with his loved ones. Those who knew and loved him will miss him terribly. He will be deeply missed.

After his death, he is survived by his wife Elaine; daughter Megan; son-in-law Derrick; grandchildren Jordan and Natalie and Jackson; as well as numerous other family members and friends. His memory will live on in the hearts and minds of all those who knew him.

On Saturday, October 2, 2021, at 3:00 p.m. in the Walden Room of Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 North Interstate 35, Pflugerville, Texas, Matthew’s life will be celebrated.

Cara Madison Sabo, Matthew’s devoted daughter, lives in Edwardsville, Illinois, with their mother, Debbie.

Family members include Stephan and Becky Sabo of Edwardsville, IL, as well as two brothers, Jason and Jordan Sabo; maternal grandparents, Jeff and Betty Caple of Fairmont City, IL; and numerous other relatives in Illinois and Texas, including uncle and aunt Jimmy Caple of Granite City and Les and Christa Sabo in Texas.

Among the many relatives and friends are: Vera and Bud Hudson of Atlanta, GA; Maggie and Richard Rohr of Belleville, IL; Jamie Caple of Granite City, IL; Katie (Adam) Nicoloff of Edwardsville, IL; Ashley (Jonathan) Dale of Alton, IL; and a large number of additional relatives and friends.

The Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road, Granite City, IL, will host a memorial visitation on Monday, August 5, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

On Monday, at 6:00 p.m., there will be a memorial service for him at the funeral home.
