Cindy was a social butterfly through and through. She had a profound impact on the lives of many. She could light up a room with her lovely smile and infectious laughter.

Cindy was a very outspoken person who was open, honest, and lively at all times. With her, there was never a dull moment. Cindy worked at a variety of places across South Dakota, including a hospital in Madison. She was a hard worker and devoted to her work no matter where she worked.

Cindy, 41, died on March 18, 2019 at Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD, after a long battle with health issues. Her father, Vincent Thompson, of Pierre, is grateful for the opportunity to be a part of her life.

Sisters Amy Marie, Barb Thompson, Bridgette, Rochelle, Anna, and Leatha all live in Fort Thompson, SD, as do her brothers Ronnie, Jon, and Vincent Sr., all of Sioux Falls, SD, and Tanner and R. J. Shields, all of Fort Thompson, SD.

SD Thompson Val & Tara from Sioux Falls, SD, Sammi & Sara from Pierre, SD, Brooke, Autumn, and Sheranda Shields from Fort Thompson, SD, and Doug Lobbins from Brookings, SD, are some of the key people in her life.

In addition to her adored nephew Jacob Taylor Shields and her beloved great grandparents Ben and Ruth Thompson and Silas and Isabell Johnson, she was predeceased by two sets of grandparents: Ben Thompson and Sissy LaRoche and Horace and Alvina Johnson Slow.

Then there is Jaylayla Rose Hawk, my dear niece. There are two girls left to carry on the family name: April Thompson and Chasity Stump-Thompson. There is also a son left to carry on the family name: James Andrew Thompson-Hoover (Debbie).

The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 3, 2014, at the Southwest Louisville Chapel of Newcomer Funeral Home (10304 Dixie Hwy). Ceremony at the funeral home will be held at 11:00 am, and burial will take place in the Evergreen Cemetery afterward.
